Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier name: We Live Context

Publication date: 03 September 2024

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

We Live Context is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2023 (reporting period 1st January 2023 – 31st December 2023)

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

Although We Live Context is a purely professional services business, with a low baseline emissions footprint, we remain committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050.

This is the first time we have calculated our Baseline Emissions (hence they are the same as current emissions reporting). We have reported from January 1st – December 31st 2023. 2023 will be our baseline for all current and future emissions reporting.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 47.07 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 10%.

Carbon Reduction Projects

We have implemented energy efficient air conditioning and lighting into our office. We have also put measures in place to ensure that all electrical items as switched off when the last person leaves (except router and fridge) to ensure energy is not wasted during the night.

We Live Context is a small professional services company operating out of managed building. We do not produce or manufacture physical items, our services are digital presentations and reports for clients. This means that we have no upstream or downstream transportation, distribution or waste products.

Business travel and employee commuting has decreased since the COVID restrictions, and our employees now come into the office approximately 3 days per week, the other 2 days working from home. On those 3 in-office days, all employees travel via public transport, cycle or walk.

In future, we hope to implement the following measures:

Waste Reduction and Recycling

  • Look to extend our replacement cycle for staff laptops to reduce waste and/or pur-chase new more efficient laptops when our current lease expires.

  • Further reduce paper usage by digitising documents and implementing electronic sig-natures.

  • Implement a comprehensive recycling program for office waste, including paper, plastics, and electronics.

  • Continue to work with building management to improve carbon footprint of office, such as the introduction of food waste.

  • Ensure waste disposal is optimised and waste signage is clear and consistent

  • Updating our procurement policies to ensure we purchase items with a lower carbon footprint

Employee Engagement

  • Encourage employees to consider the cost / benefit of in-person client meetings where necessary to reduce business travel emissions.

  • Increased encouragement for carbon friendly commutes e.g. cycle schemes

  • Educate and engage employees on the importance of reducing carbon emissions and achieving net-zero status.

  • Foster a culture of sustainability by integrating environmental considerations into company policies, practices, and decision-making processes and encourage em-ployee participation in sustainability initiatives and recognize achievements through rewards / incentives.#

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Establish regular monitoring and yearly reporting mechanisms to track progress to-wards net-zero emissions.

  • Review and adjust strategies as needed to stay on track with reduction targets.

  • Communicate progress transparently to employees, clients, and stakeholders to demonstrate commitment to sustainability.

Ongoing Efforts

  • Continuously seek opportunities for further emissions reductions and efficiency improvements.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in sustainability to re-main at the forefront of environmental stewardship.

  • Conduct yearly carbon emissions assessments and complete the MRS Annual Climate Pledge Tracking Survey.

Engagement and Collaboration

  • Engage with industry peers and sustainability networks to share knowledge and learn from others' experiences.

By following this plan, We Live Context can significantly reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.
